Connecting With Cosmic: A Florida Producer Who's Worked With Hoodrich Pablo Juan and 6 Dogs

Being only 18 and enrolled in the Florida State University, Cosmic has found a way to balance college life and being a producer. With having worked with artists like 6 Dogs and Hoodrich Pablo Juan, Cosmic has built up some valid credits and a name for himself in the producer game despite his young age. Check out one of my favorite and what I think is one of his best productions: "Think A Lot" by 6 dogs with assisted production by Danny Wolf.

Cosmic

Where are you from and what age did you first make a connection to music?

I’m from south Florida, specifically Boca Raton/ Delray Beach area and I started making music around the age of 15 but I’ve always since I was a kid liked listening to music and always wanted to play the drums.

When did you first meet success as a producer?

Well first of all my definition of success may be different from your definition of success, but I mean with multiple goals that I’m still working on and that constant strive of becoming better and better every time I hop on Fl studio, I wouldn’t consider myself as a successful producer yet, but I can say I am proud of where I’ve come so far ever since the beginning of this musical journey and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for me in the future.

You've collaborated with Danny Wolf, right? What was it like being in the studio with him cooking up?

Yea I’ve worked on hella beats with him over the course of about a year, when he first hit me up in November of 2017 yet I never got the chance to meet him in person, but overall he’s a great, humble individual who knows what he’s doing. S/O Danny Wolf fr.

Do you like collaborating with other producers or working on projects solo?

Hell yea, I love collaborating. Thanks to SoundCloud I discover new talented artists/ producers every day and am always open to working with new people because it helps me stay inspired and motivated.

What's the most annoying question you get asked as a producer and why?

This one is pretty easy as I’m always asked “when’s the next mixtape dropping” or “are you good at it” along with many other sus questions. honestly, it’s not like I get annoyed or anything I’m just like bruhhh...

You've worked with 6 dogs, right? How did you get in contact with him and what was it like working with him?

Yes, I have, all thanks to Danny Wolf who got my beats to him, at first I didn’t even expect to get someone like 6 dogs to get on some of my beats so that was a cool experience. I remember Danny telling me that I make “hard chill beats” which fits 6 dogs style perfectly.

How do you decide which beats your going to send to artists?

This question is kinda funny to me because I’m so bad at sending out beats to artists (which will change obviously) it’s not that I don’t want to send out any beats it’s just I’ve never really come across the urge to, like all the placements I’ve gotten have either been someone reaching out to me for them or having them sent out by another person. However, when it comes to collapsing and sending out melodies and such, that’s a different story as I have lots of collabs sitting on my laptop, waiting to be sent out to artists.

Do you have a favorite song you've produced or project you've been a part of?

Usually, for me I don’t have one favorite song it’s often multiple songs that I would favorite, same goes for projects, but I really enjoyed working with $teven Cannon, especially off his latest album, Lowkey.

What do you do in your free time when you're not producing?

Well aside from the fact that I’m a full-time student at Florida State University, I like to also DJ and come up with some mixes myself.

What’s on the horizon for your music career in 2019?

Honestly, 2019 so far has been great to me music wise, I’ve accomplished a lot and I have various projects that I’m working on that are sounding crazy at the moment. Now that I’m on summer break I expect to really go in on this music thing and will be traveling to places such as LA, New York, and Atlanta to link up with various producers and artists. I also plan on getting back on my youtube grind and build up more of a fan base on there with tutorials and such.
